Here's a late post on School Reunion because I love this episode far too much not to post when I finally got a chance.

*Look, everybody!  It's Giles, and he's an evil alien with a bat entourage!!!!  SQUEE!!!!   I love the way Anthony Steward-Head makes himself seem really alien with the crouching and the hissing and the creepy calm.   Can we please ( Read more... )

(Warning! Extreme Verbosity Ahead! Proceed With Caution!)

I'm going to perhaps not strictly follow the rules (they're more like guidelines, anyway?) because I want to briefly touch on Tooth & Claw and then I can't really address the things I want to address about School Reunion and Girl in the Fireplace without taking them together.

First, ( a couple things about Tooth & Claw. )

This is one of those episodes where I feel like the premise and the villains are almost unbearably cheesy, but the characters are so brilliant that it's still a good episode. I mean, as far as I'm concerned SR is nothing more than a vehicle for Sarah Jane/K9/Rose/Doctor awesomeness. (And no, I do not mean all that as a slash pairing. Get your minds ( Read more... )
